A Tale of Two Classes
Class 3A
The Class 3A division is a hotly contested arena, with South Fayette and Abington Heights as the defending champions. However, the title will be fiercely contested this year. Peters Township, led by key seniors Camden Reyes, Jackson Baxter, and Tyler Odrejko, is a force to be reckoned with. They return five of six starters from a team that finished sixth in the WPIAL, indicating a strong foundation for their pursuit of an eighth WPIAL title. Fox Chapel, the runner-up, brings back individual champion Carson Kittsley, a Penn State commit with a proven track record of success. The Foxes must replace three seniors, but their ability to restock the lineup is a testament to their depth.
Moon, North Allegheny, and Pine-Richland are also in the running, with Moon boasting three senior starters and North Allegheny having finished third. Pine-Richland's seniors, Mike Pifer and Sam Schneck, will be a force to be reckoned with. West Allegheny's juniors, Nico Ward and Ethan Boborski, add further depth to the division.
Class 2A
In Class 2A, Shady Side Academy is the clear favorite, having won the WPIAL championship with all six starters returning. Seniors Alex Avi, Jack Begg, and John DiBaralomec, along with juniors Jay Mohn and Dusyanth Parames, are expected to produce low scores. Elizabeth Forward, finishing second, has only one senior starter to replace, led by senior Aaron Didjunas. Avonworth, with its complete starting lineup, including junior Chase Hogan and senior Andrew Hetcko, is also a contender.

Individual Champions
Carson Kittsley, a Penn State commit, is the defending WPIAL and PIAA champion, having finished 16-under-par in both tournaments. The WPIAL individual section tournaments will commence on September 21-24, followed by the WPIAL individual championship rounds on September 28-30. The team playoff pairings will be announced on October 2, leading up to the WPIAL team semifinals and championships on October 8-9 and October 13, respectively. The PIAA individual and team championships will conclude the season on October 19-20 and October 21, respectively.
